    Default Frankenstein work bench

    The workbench dilemma.

I have limited space. I was planning to build a Roubo style work bench, however I also enjoy the benefits of an MFT style bench.

Currently I have a sheet of 18mm MDF being CNC routed this will sit on a basic torsion box. I have Qwas dogs and rail dogs.

I was thinking about creating a ‘Frankenstein’ bench, incorporating a MFT style top on 5cm deep torsion box which would be built into a section (1/3 of the length) of the Roubo bench. The benchtop would be approx. 10cm deep, thus the torsion box would be half the depth of the bench.

Qwas makes mini rail dogs which could be used for cutting sheet material, any thicker material could be cut using the full size rail dogs.

    Your thoughts?

It would be an interesting build / looking bench. Which end or part of the bench will the torsion box be placed / incorporated.

Even my words have to be second guessed.

Have you given though on how the legs be attached? How many legs? I am wondering what others think.
