Finished the bench today and the girls were straight into it. As predicted we had the one vise fight until I pointed out that the big handle on the end was also a vise. Looking forward to spending some hours at the bench with them now.

Yes it is planned for, I just need to cut a piece of ply to size so site on the bottom rails. I plan on dressing a heap of pine and cutting it into shorts and stacking a heap on the shelf so they can help themselves.

The youngest is a natural, picked up the saw and is into it with no instruction, also handles the vise like an old hand.

Awesome bench & great to see the girls enjoying it.

It's my son's first birthday this coming weekend and I look forward to spending lots of garage time with him in the years to come.

My mates son found the workbench a few weeks back and proceeded to pester his dad to come over to mine every day to do some "work". His Birthday was coming up so it seemed like a good opportunity for the mate and I to spend some time in the shed.

Got love that... a beautiful bench as the result of two blokes helping each other with a birthday gift for a budding woodworker...top marks all around....

Just great I love the benches, I have got as far as thinking about building the kids a bench, I think by the time I get around to it they'll be taller than me anyway!
