It's called a Radiusmaster. Google it at your peril and only if you have a large tool budget this month. Do not let anyone who has one let you have a go of it. Once you use one you have to have one. Fair warning.

Yeah, I said not to let anyone use theirs or you will have to have one.

The bloke who let me use his radiusmaster also let me use his forge and anvil as well so guess what else I have in my shed.

I managed to get one of the trestles glued up today as well. One of the trestles has two legs and the other one has three - the extra one being to support the shoulder vise.

I spent some time considering whether to do the two-legged trestle first as a kind of a rehearsal for the bigger job, or whether to get the big job out of the way first. What do you think I did?

It was tempting Matt, but the 1/2 sheet Orbital Sander handled it ok. I must not allow the older tools to feel neglected just because I have some new ones.

All the parts were sanded to the standard professional finish prior to the glue-up

I wholeheartedly agree. Perhaps you should make your older tools a bit happier and send some of your new tools away for a little while? I reckon I could find a find a quiet corner in a shed up here in Bundy for minimal rent... aw, to hell with it; I'm sure I can find them somewhere to stay for free

Loving the progress mate, looks like it’s coming together nicely! Makes me want to crack on with my bench build [emoji846]

Then here's another picture to inspire you further Bueller. The glue was dry on the big trestle so I got some clamps back and glued up the smaller trestle too.

Nice! I have a real soft spot for trestles, I want to make something like the one below when I get my confidence up a bit more.

Damn!! I just realized that I didn't take any photos of the wedged tenons before the glue-up. Too late now.

Did you use fox tail wedged tenons? If so I don't envisage those trestles racking or coming loose any time soon!

Like blind dovetails these are magnificently strong joints that reflect the skill of the maker .... and from the outside only the maker knows they are there.

I undercut the ends of the mortises slightly, but not to the extent shown n the illustration, but still technically a foxtail, I guess.

With Oregon being a softwood I was aiming to create some compression just as much as to create the dovetail shape. The aim is for the bench to outlast me.

Each joint required a few hits of the mallet to drive it home but nothing "stupid" tight. I was very happy with the way it went together.
