The RAG bench PT 1
There is fine wood working, wood working, carpentry and this bench.
I needed to make a bench and the criteria were :
Quick
Cheap
Easy
Use up what I have lying around.
First the bottom frame yes the reclaimed wood is warped cupped bowed and every possible defect apart from being weak.

I had some good quality metal filing cabinets to get rid of so I cruised Gumtree to see what they were worth. Not even the cost of the drawer slides. I thought of extracting the slides since they were worth more than cabinets.
But then I had a thought. So firing up the angle grinder.

So work in progress.

didn't anyone ever tell you measure twice, cut once? All those bearers seem about 180mm too long for the available drawer width
I love reuse, and this is a good one. What were you doing with 4 shorty filing cabinets though - actually, i don't wanna know
