That timber seems too good for a workbench.

Most woods can be used but as has been already pointed out you may want to keep the rosewood and quandong for projects later on.
Have a read of some past bench builds on here and you will see a bench can be made of all sorts of recycled timber. In some ways recycled is better as you know it is seasoned. The down side is getting all the nails and crap out of it and the risk of blade damage. Anyhow some good reading to be had and plenty of good ideas.
    Regards

Then I guess you are going to build a work bench from the wood you already have.

There are other options that you might consider.

Keep an eye out for council cleanups, they do produce some bed frames that are made from pine and can be used for the build of the bench. Sometimes you actually get other species of wood.

You might want to sell some of your stock pile to finance the build of your work bench. But personally I do not like to get rid of wood.

It will look real good in rosewood. What design did you have in mind?

well you could use the [furniture grade] stuff you have, but I suspect you could swap half a cube of rosewood for all the wood you'd need for couple of benches

Thankyou eveyone i was looking at a roubo style bench with with some of my own ideas added. I was thinking of using silver quandong for the top becouse i've got 2"x5" boards. If i use rosewood i would try and use the 2"x4" timber only becouse ive got around 100 liner metres. Thanks for the idea of selling some timber to fund my project but i allready tryed that but not many sales.

    thankss

    Hi Mick,
I would use the timber you have, perfect place for 2 x4 and 2x 5. When you try and sell people want it for nothing. One bloke asked me,
about some am. oak, " How desperate are you? " , a real cluey negotiator. Trial and error has taught me to only use 2nd hand timber
for carpentry. One nail or screw seems to always slip through.
    Cheers, Bill
