And this benchtop would be in scale to the 'apron'! Out of curiosity, have you undertaken a recent weight estimate? I was having a rough calculation....

Formidable! I know where you'll be running if there's an earth tremor. I trust you've got a roster system for helpers lifting the top - it's only fair to give them chiropractic recovery time between lifts! Not that 545kg isn't impressive, but 1200+ pounds sounds even more so.

Ahhh... so you're the driving force behind rising timber prices? You have half the country's annual logging output tied up in it!

So, when are you having a forum christening? I reckon you could probably hold the get-together on the bench...
I may be weird, but I'm saving up to become eccentric.

Don't think so - yours had teeth on one side only, did it not? Mine has teeth on both sides, with zero set.

I'll have to have a look at it & see what breed it is.....

Of particular interest would be how thick the blade is.

OK, I'll measure that, too (tonight). From memory, it's a bit thinner than the .020" blade of the one I made, but not sure by how much...

Busy day but no pics. I've been using my new jointer to make sure the skirt and top are a good fit. I've also put a double row of dominos along the skirt so I can relocate it to the correct position when it is finally glued. The top is now waiting for some help to raise it back to level so I can flatten it then flip it, trim the ends and cut the channel for the wagon vise.

Onya Cliff. Best laugh I've had for a long time. Although I would not upset a man that has a skirt and top that takes three men to lift. !!!
