Default My First wood bench build

Over the years I built many a steel bench even built a 1/2 & 1/2 still it was steel frame with a 1/4 plate top one end and timber top the other with 8" vice fitted. The oldest son has that one.

This use to be the frame Pat & Fletty built out of material another mate Ken gave me which stood around and over the top f the Nova.

100x100x780Hx1800L wheel will be fitted. width of table either 900 or 800 wide undecided.

Dry fit of both main rails.

Mortise drilled with 48mm forstner bit then used either the Resipsaw the coping saw or a hole saw then Microplanes to size.

Great start there, that is a big ask of the coping saw, should be a good solid workbench.
    Watching the progress with interest.

Thanks Rod. I thought it may have been also but that one went through no hassles. The 2nd one well back to using the recipsaw as hidden knots just were not going to make it easy.

Now for the top and bottom frames as the top will be the black ply from Big Green shed.

I'd love to do a laminated top but sourcing enough material quickly isn't going to happen.

Thanks TT, all came to a hault for a few days other things like Melaney wood show and visitor like Old Croc who helped cut up Blue Gum reluctantly I might add and the need to source a few bits I need to make the inner frames. however LOML did pull down of the shelf yesterday the majority of the other pine.

    I shall post further along.
