    Default different kind of workbench

I have been wanting an elevating work bench for awhile.

    and bought this baby today...

no manual pumping required, the pumping is done by pneumatic. the ram is hydraulic.

It was used as an ATV servicing platform previously.

What type of work are you going to be doing on it?

I'm guessing you will be making the bed height high as it looks pretty low even at its full height.

Blimey that thing sounds like a Tank!
My bro has a smaller version of a similar bench he uses for motorbikes but it's nearly silent.

Does it raise up high enough to be used as outfeed table.

yes it does look a bit "agricultural", maybe there is a fix to eliminate the air noise? but if it is not broken it wont get repaired..

the base frame/ram is made by a German manufacturer, the steel table top is made locally, the top is 2.4m x 1.2m

it can be used as an out feed table but it is too big for my workshop. it is going to live outside for the forseeable future.

tools - you will need it the day after you sold it! but if you dont sell it, it just sit there idling for months!

yes I need to sweep the floor.

I made my workbench height adjustable and it's very handy being able to adjust it for an outfeed on the drum sander, table saw, bandsaw, etc.

I've seen a few guys use old electric hospital beds that have height adjustment mechanisms in them and attach a solid frame and top to them which is a good idea.

That looks great. Did you use a height adjustable trolley and made your own metal frame or made that from scratch? I made something similar with modified height adjustable trolley. widened the base with just timber and put a torsion box on the top. I would like something a bit bigger though (its 1.8m x 800 or 900 from memory)

I made it from scratch and bought the hydraulic bit second hand off one of the small lifting trolley that are sold at H&F. The size is about the same as you are talking. it's pretty solid actually, but the pump up and down bit is brilliant, should have made it YEARS ago.
