Up for sale is my heavily modified Bosch PBD40 Pedestal Bench Drill. This is a great little drill, and I've been highly impressed with it, but it is by no means perfect especially straight out of the box. In its original configuration, there is some flex in the column particularly when applying a lot of force when drilling through our tough Aussie hardwoods. I overcame this issue by firstly stiffening the column by inserting a Tassie Oak dowel inside and then manufacturing a hardwood bracket/arm which supported the column at both ends. My other upgrade was to replace the unergonomic OEM wheel with a more traditional 3-handled version. The hardwood bracket/arm is included in the sale. Also included are all the necessary OEM parts to restore it back to its original configuration if you wish to do so (the screws for the blade guard is installed in their holes so they don't go missing. The only bit that is not included is the steel metal depth stop rod which I re-purposed for something else. The digital depth reading on the drill is so accurate that a mechanical depth stop is unnecessary to achieve repeatable holes. Reason for sale is because I want to upgrade to a Nova drill which I had always intended to purchase eventually.

The drill will be sold as per its current configuration and I will only unbolt it from the wall after payment has been received. The current RRP on Amazon for this drill is currently $432, but these do go on sale occasionally, and I paid around $250 for mine. My asking price is $175.
