Dovetailer
Dovetail machine. I brought this home because the pedestal and other parts were worth it to me. Now that it is time to tear it down to make room in the shop, I can't bring myself to destroy this very nice machine. Time to pass on the torch I think.
Obviously a top quality, production grade machine but not crazy heavy and the footprint is small. It could use a bit of a clean but otherwise looks to be in great shape. I can't see any significant wear anywhere other than the paint on the lower support bar. Both axes slide on bearings so the operation is pretty slick. Bits look to be 1/2" shaft and a dovetail bit is fitted/included.
I have not run the 3 phase motor but the person I got it from said it was running and in use when they shut down their cabinet shop. Motor plate says 220 or 440 3 phase, which would mean you could run it from single phase with the addition of a VFD. But then there is another plate which only says 440V, so who knows. It isn't a large motor so a replacement single phase motor wont be too terrible. Note that there is no switch/starter fitted. I suspect the switch was on the motor, it broke and was bypassed and covered by the metal plate. An electrician that knew what they were doing wouldn't do this. So, I highly recommend you have someone qualified check the electrical *before* applying any power. This machine is very much supplied as-is.
$125 o.b.o. AS-IS. Pickup Perth Metro (Booragoon).
