Handcrafted Small Router Plane

Another Handcrafted Tool from Dave's Woodshed. As many of my previous customers will confirm I make beautiful handcrafted woodworking tools from unusual and scarce timbers that look great but are fully functional and intended to be used in the workshop

I have just completed this beautiful little Router Plane, the timber is Spotted Jarrah on a hard Acrylic base, the Router Blade is straight from Lee Valley and the brass-work is all my own. A slot was cut in the timber and a 3mm brass plate fitted and secured with pins, the plate was drilled and tapped to take a M6 brass thumbscrew and the depth stop is an M8 brass nut drilled and tapped to M5. The plane will cut to a depth of 20mm and has a 6.25mm wide blade.
This little plane has been a pleasure to build and works as well as any small hand router from our Canadian friends.
Ah you say, "but won't the Acrylic scratch?" well it will but not to the stage where you won't be able to see through it (and it can always be cleaned up on a sheet of glass and 2000 grit wet and dry). Besides the others on the market are made from steel which is even less transparent than Acrylic.
