It's coming up to Fathers day and if, like me, you have to select your own present I've made some hand tools that might fit the bill. As with all of the tools I make they are individual and hand made from unusual and attractive timbers seasoned for several years in my workshop in Perth.
First up is a Frame saw made from Tasmanian Huon Pine and WA She Oak, the handle inserts are Lacy She Oak (a rare and beautiful timber) and the ferrules and tension adjustment are made from polished brass. The blade is 380mm long and 20mm wide with 10 tpi.
This saw is priced at $200 and postage is $15 anywhere in Australia.

Next is a beautiful Huon Pine Mallet. The head is made from a single piece of timber (70mm x 70mm) and the mallet is inlaid with WA Jarrah (380mm long). I have added lead weights to the mallet head (under the inlay) and the weight is 830gms. Price is $110 and postage $15

Lastly, a Huon Pine and Jarrah Awl for $35, postage is $10

I appreciate the price may seem high but it reflects the hours I spend making each of these tools and the high quality timber and fittings I use. All of my tools are guaranteed to last a lifetime making them true heirloom pieces.
