    Default Hitachi M12SA2 router

Hitachi M12SA2 1700W router. Includes fence, 1/2" and 1/4" collets, guide ring holder, 18mm guide and centering device (whatever that does, maybe for centring the guide holder?)

Runs well, stacks of power. The depth adjustment knob on top does not work, the plastic part that engages the thread on a cam mechanism is broken but shouldn't be too much hassle to replace. I believe it's part 53 here https://www.toolspareparts.com.au/hi...are-parts.html

$150 Pickup from Caulfield South or will post at cost (weighs about 9kg)

\on my routers, the "centering device" is used to center a guide bush and having done so is replaced with the bit you want to use.

Lets us know how you go. I waited for some months for spares from them and got S$A. Had to get PayPal on the case.

They have stated that the order will be shipped in 5 to 10 days from the order so will be interesting to see if that occurs.

Sorry for the slight hijack of the OP.

I've never seen an M12 before, but I'm pretty sure it must have walked off the set of Battlestar Galactica!

Very impressive looking beast, looks like a mini cylon. Very tempting.

    cheers, Ian

Not that I need it, but I do not have a 1/2" router. Can you please provide some more details.
Is it variable speed? Does the plunge lock work?

I would prefer something with at least a soft start.

Single speed, no soft start, plunge lock works perfectly.

Part arrived yesterday. A bit longer than originally quoted but still reasonable for time of year.

Sorry for hijack again, Elan, but will act as a bump for you

Are you sure it's 9kg ? That seems awfully heavy. The big makita and triton tra are about 6 kg and that one is more mof size ?

The router itself is about 6kg, but once you add the fence and other bits the total shipping weight is up around 9kg
