HNT Jointer with HSS blade
I am selling my HNT Gordon Jointer. It has seen very little use in that I have used it about half a dozen times in total and not at all in the last two to three years This particular model is one of the bigger versions (in the HNT Jointer you can specify a range of lengths) being 660mm long and comes with a HSS blade. While this blade takes a little longer to sharpen, it does hold it's edge better and is more resilient, particularly if the blade is inserted bevel up to use as a scraper plane on difficult timbers. The scraping process imparts a good deal more heat compared to the normal bevel down configuration.
The plane body is made of Gidgee and while it was not bought as one of Terry's specialty planes (ringed or otherwise highly figured) this plane has a very attractive look to it compared to run of the mill Gidgee. Photography is not a strong point of mine, but I have tried, with only moderate success, to capture the true look. (Double click on each pic to enlarge them further.)

The handle is on a sliding taper and can be positioned to one side to use in conjunction with a shooting board. Everybody tells me this but I have never done it.
The blade has been freshly sharpened and I couldn't resist performing Terry's little demonstration trick of shaving off a name written in timber .

The plane comes with the original box, but that is not in quite the same the pristine condition of the plane. I believe this plane would suit somebody in the market for a brand new plane. This is a link to the HNT Gordon site for full details of the Jointer with the HSS blade. The only apology is that there is some slight staining on the reverse of the blade, but this is cosmetic and will not affect the performance.

When you go to the link use the drop down menu for the HSS blade price. (Brace yourself or at least sit down first)
I have at least nine other HNT Gordon planes as I am a big fan of his products. They are beautifully crafted, perform well and are Australian made by a true craftsman. So why am I selling this example? Well, SWMBO, a couple of years ago, saw my copy of "AWR" open at a page espousing the virtues of the Lie Neilsen jointer and thought I was dropping a hint. That wasn't the case at all, but for an Xmas pressy I ended up with a No.7!! It is not worth my while to move that one on or I would have to go with it.
I know, it's a tough life.
I am asking $295 for the HNT Jointer plus postage at cost (no charge for packaging and I will include insurance at my expense). This is quite a saving on the current price of this plane with the HSS blade.
You are welcome to ask any questions either here or by PM.

Hi Paul, is this one still for sale? I’ll take it if it is. Cheers, Damien.
