internal inertia sanders
I have for quite awhile been developing a simple effective sander based on the inertia principle and I have come up with this design as seen below. they are for sale at $85AUD as an introductory price plus postage. Overseas inquiries welcome, they will sent airmail.
Specs:
1. 50mm sanding head running on two skateboard bearings
2. Articulated head allowing for even the most pronounced rim or lip
3. Lock in place by high tensile m4 Allen cap screws including Allen key or wrench
4. 12.7mm or .5" 4140 high tensile shaft 350mm long
5. 300mm x 30mm dia handle with a rippled plastic coating to ensure a quality grip.
The reach inside is around 300mm more if the handle can be inserted. Should this be too short a longer shaft can be used, especially when made from 4140. If the sanding head diameter is too large for what you turn it can be readily reduced by using your grinder. Just simply hold it against the grinding wheel and reduce to your preferred size.
Although I would not recommend going below 30mm diameter as the heat build up in the sanding process cant really be dissipated. Resulting in a break down of the sanding head , sand paper and Velcro separate and at extreme times the foam will break down as well.
I have a limited number available as my supplier of locking knobs as a further order that has yet to arrive.Inspiration exists, but it has to find you working. — Pablo Picasso

Hughie, can the 50mm pad be swapped out for 75mm?

Hughie, I have hex shafts, so they probably would not work with your sander.
