    Default Jet Dust Extractor

This is a rare find. A three phase 415 volt Jet Dust Collector Model DC1800 with 3hp motor in excellent condition.
This unit has been recently upgraded with the 2 mircon cartridge filters on both sides and only done
a tiny amount of work since the upgrade.(Still on the first bag) Sadly moved to a single phase home now so the dusty has to go.
This powerful unit is in excellent condition with a long heavy duty power lead and Clipsal plug.
Realistically priced at $750 which is a bargain with the filter upgrades.
Located on the Brisbane Southside. Collection only.

    Sorry but no.

The dust collector is now withdrawn from sale for the time being.
I am investigating the VFD options for it.

That's a good idea , cost a little but will not lose a lot & still have your dusty.

To use a 240V VFD the motor has to be convertible to 240V 3P Delta.

This means if the motor is a 415v "Star" wired it will need to be converted in either at he motor connection box (easy), or have the "Star" point uncoupled internally and these connections brought out to the connection box. Unless you are comfortable with taking apart motors this is is normally a job for a motor rewinder.
If the motor is a 415v "Delta" wired motor it cannot be used and the motor needs to be replaced.

It won't lose a thing - in fact a properly connected VFD will enable the motor to be spun to the original spec of those DCs which was for a 60Hz motor so it should draw 20% more than before. Assuming the current draw at 60Hz is not too much for the motor - expect a lot more noise BTW.

    BobL,
I think you misunderstood my post. I was referring to the money side of things.
    Cheers pker
