Leigh FMT (Mortise & Tenon Jig)
Hi All,
I have for sale a Leigh FMT - 'Frame Mortise & Tenon Jig', the Rolls Royce of specialised M&T gear. It's essentially the same as the current model FMT Pro - they rebadged them at some point and changed the FMT to FMT Pro, and added a cheaper model called the Super FMT. I believe the only major change they made to the newer model was to make the 'side stop fence' a bit more user-friendly. The newer part can be bought directly from Leigh for $20 Canadian.
The previous owner looks at have barely used it, and I'm sorry to say that I've never found the time to use it, hence putting it up for sale.
So here's what you get:
- Frame Mortise and Tenon Jig, complete. The current equivalent is available in Australia for $1849 (although for some reason their model is imperial. Mine is metric.)
https://www.carbatec.com.au/joinery-...t-jig-imperial
- Complete set of metric guides. The set of guides that comes with an FMT (if you can find metric ones) only lets you make 8mm mortise & tenons. This complete set allows you to make 6mm, 8mm, 10mm & 12mm joints with a total of 24 sizes, in addition to being able to make stacked tenons etc. Unbelievably, the best price I can find to get these to Australia is around AUD$200. https://www.axminster.co.uk/leigh-me...on-jigs-474684
- 8mm & 10mm Carbitool spiral router bits. Presumably a metric kit would include the 8mm bit; the 10mm is worth around $50-60.
So all up to buy all of this new, around $2100.
I'm asking for $1200. Please see photos below!
Cheers
By the way, here's the list of compatible routers as shown in the manual.
Presumably there are also newer routers now which have the same fixing points; however, the preferred method is apparently to use the rods (provided) through the fence mounting holes on your router. This is discussed in the current version of the manual here:

Just a quick note to say that there are a few folks PMing with questions, but the first to claim it in this thread will take home the chocolates.
Also, in case it's of interest, it'll come with a tax invoice including GST.
Cheers,
Ben
