    Default Modified 2hp dust extractor

    Hi everyone

I upgraded to a bigger double bag 3hp dusty some time ago, so it’s time to move on my 2hp carbatec generic dust extractor. Works great, no problems. It’s the older version of this one Economy Dust Extractor - 2HP | Carbatec. Runs off a standard 10a power point.

It’s been modified along the lines of this thread (The Generic 2HP DC) a couple of years ago. It certainly seemed to increase the air movement. It comes with all the standard parts (except one, see below). It also has a custom built 6” air inlet to allow connection to 6” pvc ducting.

The key modification is to remove the small diameter pipe that used to connect the impeller to the bag housing. I’ve built a custom connection so that the motor/impeller connects directly to the bag housing. This keeps the air flow up but means it won’t fit back onto the trolley it usually comes with. I had mounted the motor/impeller to the wall in my previous house which worked a treat. The bag housing then bolts directly to it. Would ideally suit someone who could do the same.

All the parts are included to convert it back to the traditional setup. Would take a little bit of work, but wouldn’t be too hard. Trolley base is included even though it’s not in the pictures.

The one thing it is missing is the band clamp to hold the bag on the bottom, which is needed before it would work. It got used in my new setup and can’t be spared. Sorry.

Not sure if the mods make it more or less valuable. Looking for $100 or best offer. If you want more pics, let me know.

Happy to have a chat about how to make the extractor it work in your workshop - from a socially responsible distance of course!

Trav, I'd take it but would have to wait to pick it up when the travel restrictions are over. I'm in Bendigo and regularly (twice a year) go past Canberra way to Bateman's Bay to see my mum. Having to wait till this lockdown is over. So if you don't sell it beforehand I'd pick it up then.

    Thanks Bob

Unfortunately, the dusty is no longer available.

    Thanks for the interest.
