Mortice Chisels - full set of vintage English oval bolstered
I began collecting English oval bolstered mortice chisels about 25 years ago. Many came and went, keeping the best. These are all really great steel, and full length blades (6 1/2 - 7"). Some of the handles are original and some replaced (with faithful reconstructions). Why am I selling them? Just too many tools and I have, since putting the set together, received a bunch of Veritas chisels, to which have a sentimental connection.
These are all sharp and ready to use.
1/2" Ward ...
3/8" Hearnshaw
5/16"
1/4" Ward
3/16"
1/8" Mosborn
1/16"
All have a 20 degree primary bevel with a rounded 30- or 35 degree secondary bevel.
Price: $315 excluding postage. …. Edit: see post below.

Price reduced - when I posted this last night the price reflected what I think is fair for the quality of the steel and the difficulty in putting these chisels together over such a long period of time. I will drop the price - one time only - as it would be good seeing them go to a new home. So $290 excluding postage.

Hi Derek. I would love to buy the all but can't. If you end up splitting the set I would take the 3/16 one with the figured handle.

Hi MA
I doubt that I will split them. It took too long for them to find each other. I'd rather keep them together.

I’ll take them Derek. I’ve been waiting for some decent mortise chisels to show up.
