Default Planes ... Planes ... Planes

The planes below are for sale. They are all in excellent condition, having been cared for and meticulously maintained. I have not used them in a long while - I have a lot of planes - and it is time to thin the herd. Better they are used than continue to lie on a shelf.

Prices are below. I accept Paypal or direct deposit (preferred). Postage is extra. I think I have the original boxes for all the Veritas planes.

First up is a Veritas LA Block plane plus accessories ...

This has a full length A2 blade.

It comes with a chamfer guide ...

... as well as the handle and knob to convert the block plane into a small smoother ...

Carbatec sell this for $360. I'll take $230.

Next up is the Veritas Small Scraping Plane. This is the size of a block plane, very handy and easy to set up and use.

Carbatec sell these for $210. I'll take $125.

    Two more block planes ...

The first is a vintage Stanley #65 knuckle joint. I estimate this dates to around WW1. This was described by Patrick Leach as the "finest plane ever made by Stanley". The #65 is a low angle block plane, that is, has a 12 degree bed. This plane has a new Hock A2 Cryo blade ($63 from thewoodworks.com.au).

Price for this plane is $175.

Lastly, a vintage Stanley #18 knuckle joint block plane. This has a common angle bed (20 degrees). This plane is a highly desirable Sweetheart, which dates it to 1923 - 1932. The blade is a special Japanese laminated one by Tsunesaburo (the closest I could find today is $105 from thewoodworks.com.au).

    Price is $135.

PM if you wish to purchase any of the above.

    Regards from Perth

    Derek
