OK. This is where I always start to feel a little uncomfortable. I presume technically playing by the forum rules Gungy is the first to officially say it's Sold so on that basis everything is all fair and square. As such the book is yours Gungy. PM on its way.

I can understand where Flindersia is coming from and would only add that I have offered to purchase said book on the basis that if I were out of line and seemed to be que-jumping I would be informed of such. I did take it that the message content in #4 note of this string suggested that the book was still available and so stepped forward. If I have stepped on toes here, my apologies. I respect the rules and the members of this forum, and if Flindersia wishes to offer Mobyturns the opportunity to take the book then I am content to abide by that call.

I appreciate all are acting in good faith. Things tend to get murky when lower offers are made. Given that an ONO option was not offered, & 5kg Express Post parcel rate is $24.80 I thought that Clearout's offer was perhaps a little low. Maybe a little clarification may be required in the Market Place rules regarding "offers" from a purchaser as the seller must observe "Price must be included, add ONO (Or Nearest Offer) if price is negotiable."

If the postage rate to Clearout's address is closer to the $40 then I'm happy for the book to go there.

So on that basis, Yes I would like to proceed with the purchase of the book, at the original purchase terms i.e. $140 including postage. Consider it sold.

My offer was an impulse thing.
i used to regularly borrow this from one of several libraries at Usyd when I worked there.
I wouldn’t be bothered packing a valuable book for Oz Post and driving to a P.O. etc for $15.
So I guess the offer was made on this basis.
I have however packed items for mail in specially made ply boxes for eBay sales when the items weight or fragility needed it.

Ok Great. Everyone's happy then including me as I'm glad the book is heading to a good home. Don't stress about the postage. I expect rare books are in the mail all over the world every day of the week and this one will be well packed to ensure it's taken care of.
