I have this exact machine and can't really fault it - the spiral helical heads are amazing and much better than solid straight knives. Given they where $2,500 new this is a good price.

The straight knife version is really quite good too. I'm about to list mine for sale, since I've upgraded to Hammer A3-31 which should arrive in the next few weeks. Combo machines are such a great option for those with limited space. The footprint is tiny, and you get bigger than normal capacity on the jointer, as well as decent capacity on the thicknesser too. All for less than the price of a straight knife Dewalt 735 thicknesser.

All the best with this unit Mfoneill, and, welcome to the forum!
