    Default BIG Stanley plane clearout

The time has come to free up funds for other interests, so I'm clearing out my collection of (mostly) USA made Stanley planes. All are in "as found" condition as I felt the naturally aged look was part of the history of each piece, but they are all usable with just a sharpen of the blade and removal of some surface rust or you can go all out and restore them. The Types are based on https://www.hyperkitten.com/tools/st..._flowchart.php and https://www.rexmill.com/planes101/typing/typing.htm and are not guaranteed to be 100% accurate, but I believe them to be correct. Happy to answer any further questions and add extra pics for whoever needs.

Attached is an overview pic, the full gallery is here https://photos.app.goo.gl/kN4h8VVJ9UpvHycr7

For those that are interested in the more uncommon/collectible planes, I also have a No.2, No. 3 (Type 2), G4 (Type 1), G6C, A5, A6, a pair of No. 85 rebate scraper planes (one in serviceable/restorable condition, one for parts only - tilting handles suit the 10 1/4 rebate plane if you're trying to find some) and a pair of No. 62 low angle jack planes (one with the bed behind the mouth significantly filed back possibly parts only or a user, one with the casting perfectly intact). Also a No 54 adjustable mouth spokeshave, No 65 adjustable chamfer spokeshave, No 62 double sided spokeshave and No 67 universal spokeshave (not the complete kit, just with the curved sole plate). PM me directly about these.

Pickup is available from Caulfield South, or post at cost; if you're between the Caulfield and Dingley areas I might be able to drop off. Prices are all ONO, but I think they're pretty reasonable. I may be able to arrange for surface grinding of the soles and sides for those that are interested, I will confirm that in the next couple of days.

To try to eliminate any problems of who gets in first, whoever calls dibs IN THE THREAD first is first in line. PMs can come later. Thanks all.

Elan , good prices on those.

I am not in the market as I have most of these. Good luck on your next venture.

    Elan, I'm after a 3, 5 1/4, and a 5 1/2

Not sure about the difference between the types and the C's, so I'll have a quick look. I'll def take the '3 type 13', and work out the diff with the others.

    Post to Newcastle again

edit - oops, may have missed the 3. 2nd in line...

    So, I'll take:
#3C T11 if the 3 has def gone
    #5 1/4 type 14
    #5 1/2C

Yep, missed it by that much

C just means it has the corrugated base (grooves milled in it for less friction or something), I'm sure someone's done a study as to how effective they are...

The Types are mainly used for dating the planes by design changes that were made at various points. Mostly they are cosmetic changes (how many patent dates are cast in the bed, if/where the number and Bailey logo are cast, etc), but there were some practical changes along the line as well, such as changing the height of the front knob and the size of the depth adjuster wheel.

Heya mate, I'd love to get hold of a 3c and 4c if they're available.

I'm not too concerned about the rest of the details but they'll help my lonely 5c to feel at home.

I am about to start a job in stkilda so will be driving past Caulfield regularly - I'll just have to tee up an appropriate time.

I'll pm you once I know more details about my movements (hope that's ok)
    Cheers

Hi Gab, the 3C has been claimed, but the 4C is yours.

For everyone needing postage prices, I'll get back to you tomorrow; just depends on what I can squeeze in the AusPost bags.

Thanks all for the great response, I'm starting to wonder if I've sold myself short Ah well, I don't think I'm losing anything and glad they'll be going to people who'll use them instead of taking up floor space in the lounge.

EDIT: Sorry guys, might have to be Tuesday for postage, I have a prior arrangement and don't think I'll be able to bubble wrap everything and get to the post office. I'll do my best though

Dammit, I’ve spent all night agonising about how I don’t need a 100-1/2... but now I want one!

    Sigh, I’ll take it!

Thanks all, dibs have all been noted and I'll be in touch with everyone later this evening.

There's been more interest than I expected in the "specials", so I will be making a gallery tonight and posting the link when it's up.

To keep those interested (and anyone else looking) informed, the order in which EOIs have been received is as follows:
    Zsteve: No 2
    ddryland: No 3 T2, both 85s, both 62s
    derekcohen: No 2
