    Default Veritas hand planes

I have a Veritas bevel up jointer plane and a scraper plane for sale.

The jointer comes with sock, spare blade and jointer fence. The fence has never been used and is still sealed in the original box. The spare blade is for a jack plane, but the same size as the jointer blade. The spare blade has never been used. Both blades are A2 steel - $500 for the lot

The scraper comes with a sock, which is old but perfectly serviceable - $250

Both planes are in very good condition. I bought both with the intention of using hand tools instead of power tools but sadly I just never got around to it.

These are large, heavy items, so I will not post them. They are for local pick up only from Morley in Perth.

Bodiga - IF you'd be happy to pack them into a box, I can arrange for a courier collection (box well and attach a label that I'd email to you. I pay for courier and insure myself). Would this be acceptable?

Would you accept $200 for the scraper and $350 for the jointer bundle?

    If so, I'll take them.

(*edit - they will enjoy a very long and happy life in my collection. Well loved and used! A Good Home! )

Hi woodPixel, I will keep you in mind if I can't find a local buyer, but I reckon I would be after a bit more than that, especially for the jointer bundle. I'll let you know if I can't find a local buyer. Regards.

    Completely.

I'd be OK to go to $425.*

@woodpixel, I expect pictures of nice shavings streaming from your #7 soon. We also have to compare notes on the Veritas scraper plane.

Justonething, I fear we may both be in for a long wait.

My honey-do list is getting out of hand, plus I'm an exceedingly lazy bastard too!

First thing I'll do however, it schmick them up, pop the spare blade into the BUJ (it was second hand without a blade!!!).... So this conquers a few problems

I'll accommodate and pretend to do some work with Instagramable pix 😉😉😉😉🤣🤣🤣🙃🙃

    Thanks for selling Bodgia 😍😍😛😛😋😋

Not wrong on the scraper. I'm unreasonably excited about that one.

I've plenty of flat metal scrapers, plus a decent second hand bendy-holder, but it still feels wrong for me.

Another forumite sold me a Veritas scraper, the ugly cast iron thing, but my big clunky hands and stupid thumbs are too long and meaty, so it doesn't quite work either.

    So! Hence my excitement....

    Well, shavings soon!

Today I took them apart and polished them until they shone!

Ah.... basic iron and brass. Looks soooo good!

240 then 400 grit wet and dry and a very good clean and scrub of everything. Blades sharpened (arm hair pictures will NOT be supplied!)

    The Jointer is MASSIVE!

    I LOVE IT!!!!
