Alas, all my tales of derring-do cannot be written here for several reasons:
1) Many of them would compromise National Security.
2) Several contain descriptions of acts that are still illegal in places such as Saudi, Indonesia and everywhere south of the Mason-Dixie line. But not Tasmania; oddly...
3) The one about the friendly dog and two small biscuits is possibly a complete fabrication.
And unfortunately I have no way of collecting it before the Maleny Show.Nothing succeeds like a budgie without a beak.

That's not a very good story. C'mon, bit more effort!

Ok, so I'd be using this lathe to be turning up some table legs, my grandfather's table was made from Blackwood that he fell on our old property in Vic. When my grandmother moved up here movers broke 2 of the legs, there unique and would be hard to replicate but I'd love to try. Hayzie.

Ok Hayzie...thats a pretty good yarn...you can have it if you promise solemnly to post some picture of your efforts on this thread....so you can get plenty of advice from people "in the know" ha ha about how to turn table legs....I'm encouraging readers to give old mate a bit of a hand.
PS "Might" be able to help you out with a template when you pick it up.
Unfortunately I have to go to Sydney on a sad family matter so wont be around for a while. Will pm you when I'm nearly back.

Thank you very much Brko, as we talked about there are some pieces missing but I think that's what the steel plates were for. Hopefully I'll be turning wood in no time.
