    Default Aust EBONY CROTCH

    Here is another rare thing to see.... a rare opportunity for a creative turner with a BIG LATHE .. a challenge? for sure

    Aust Ebony (Diopyros humilis) crotch from northern Australia cut in 1991 or thereabouts by a friend (now deceased).
    This species is renowned for some cracking during drying and that is almost unavoidable in my experience.
    This piece is large & more stable than usual .. It hasnt destroyed itself as some do.

    Its has a pinkish intermediate wood with islet of black through it and with a jet black heartwood. 4 sides are shown
    Price $130 .... Pick up only due to its size &weight
