    Default Musical Instr / Spindle Turers - Squares - Specials some RARE WOODS

    Offering Squares of dry hard, very dense, wood ... some suitable for Musical instruments or ...
    Special items for the table etc or.... All DRY, no figure... essentially straight grained, unless mentioned otherwise
    Will be posted here, in small lots, with description & pics as best I can make. Some colours are distorted

    These will include ....

    #1 Purple Gidgee (1x)

    420 x 43 x 43 mm no knots or cracks but with a bit of sapwood along one edge ....... $50

    #2 Gold Gidgee (streaked, lustrous) , rare one off (have no more) , dense, hard browns with gold streaks

    395 x 45 x 45 mm solid no faults, .......... $100

    Default Lancewoods (2)

    Items 3 &4 are both called Lancewood

    #3 Desert / Dryland Lancewood (Acacia shirleyi)

    small knot & sapwood & chip near corner, otherwise dry & sound
    very dense & hard, strange greenish in tones of brown & often streaked

    Size: 45 x 45 x 243 ........... $25

    #4 Dead Finish / Red Lancewood

    46 x 46 x 355 mm ......... $35

    Very dense, hard, fine texture with a pretty wood colours in tones of pink-red-purple, with some dark lines.
    Best when freshly turned & finished quickly as colours will fade in light

    sapwood on edge at one end very small knot near one edge

    Default Cooktown Ironwood & Gidgee

    Item #5 & 6 are GIDGEE fine select (perhaps instrument grade)

    cut from a quarter-sawn slab, dry hard, dark chocolate brown (except if freshly sawn, see on two faces), lustrous & oily,

    one has a small fault end check which will likely turn out so its discounted a bit

    #5 55 x 55 x 296 mm ... $50

    #6 55 x 55 x 296 ............$40 (with small fault see pic below )

    Gidgee are the 2 blocks / squares on right in pics below

    Cooktown Ironwood (Red Ironwood)

    Suit instruments of tool handles etc, Dry, deep red orange, very dense, tough & hard ,
    no cracks knots or similar faults, almost straight grain but some mild wavy-ness evident on pics.

    Please note COLOURS in real life are much brighter than shown.
    My aim is show faults / sapwood as well as wood beauty ... colour is a letdown ... sorry
