I can't believe I'm doing this, I promised the kids I never would!
But circumstances change, and we found ourselves with 100 ft of boat spread over two hemispheres, and a house in the way of a freeway, so something had to give!
"Gruff" is our much loved, GIS, launched on Australia Day 1995 and the ship that launched a thousand faces!
Thanks to my reasonably fastidious construction methods, and a tailor made cover, she's still in almost pristine condition. Well actually, the cover is still OK, and the paint work is barely marked, however the clear bits need a good sand back to the epoxy and re-varnishing. There is absolutely no damage to the ply or timber, just aged spar varnish that doesn't look too pristine, and the odd spot of mildew between the epoxy and the varnish. Don't get me wrong, it's not a mess and with the clear re-done she'll be back to her glorious best.
The sail has genuine yellowing around it, but is in good nick too, apart from a few marks where the mildew has been bleached out of it over the years.
She comes with a registered trailer (Qld) built by yours truly way back then, lightweight yet strong enough to carry a couple of PDRacers down the Darling River Run a few years ago. (Springs and bearings replaced before that trip, are in absolutely perfect condition).
Price: an absolutely reasonable bargain basement less than materials cost - $3,500.00
