Looking for Camphor Laurel logs in GOLD COAST
Hi everyone happy new year!
I'm looking for camphor laurel logs for firewood purpose in Gold Coast.
Do you guys happen to know where I would possibly be able to purchase the logs from?
I'm hoping to find a sustainable supplier that I can purchase from once in every 3-4 months.

Thanks a lot!

Specifically Camphor Laurel for firewood?
I was going to suggest Mapleman if he's close to you but his stuff definitely wouldn't be cost effective for firewood.
cheers, Ian

Not quite sure why you would want it for firewood, burns fast with little heat, but perhaps you are looking from a sustainable perspective to get rid of the stuff maybe??
Anyway, try Terry from Tex Timbers on 0417 121 800. He is located in Buccan but travels back and forth to northern NSW to cut his CL.Neil____________________________________________Every day presents an opportunity to learn something new

There are quite a few aussie hardwoods like ironbark that produce good charcoal.

Yup we've tried a few and at the moment only CL coal has what we need.
Do you happen to have CL logs?

This isn’t the Gold Coast but it’s close.
I recently visited the Murwillumbah Men’s Shed with a mate and they were making cutting boards from CL.
A local Miller gives the shed all his offcuts.
I suggest you contact them for his details.

Hard to reveal but basically when we remove the charcoal from fire, the charcoal needs to stay in burning red as long as possible - that's the 'visual effect' we need and at the moment CL is the best option.

Did you manage to source your CL ?
Did you get hold of a CL supply? Did you want green or dry timber ?
