Lathe Chuck and accessories
Hi all
Recently picked up an old woodfast lathe thanks to Narcher & Fletty (Thanks fellas its awesome) and i thought id ask on here if anyone had some used lathe accessories no longer needed and willing to part with.
The items im after ill put into a small list below, some parts i might get new but as i dont have a lot to spend on it thought a second hand approach could work out.
- Cone live centre - No preference in size
- Spur drive
- Pen mandrel saver
- 100mm scroll chuck
Ill need them to be MT2 and 1/10 TPI thread but i should be able to hunt around for adapters if say the scroll chuck was something different.
Not after anything fancy branded just something in good working order will do, just want to get up and running to make tool handles and some pens
Cheers,
Nathan

No luck - I'm sorry.
All I found was a screw chuck to go into a scroll chuck.
Yours if you want it

Just make sure that whichever chuck you buy has a good selection of jaws available for it too.

I bought a couple of these ones that come with a bunch of jaws, pretty good value really and nicely made:

I did sign up for the discount and I'm ok with that price for the adapters and the chuck but I couldn't see if they had any compatible jaws
I did come across that eBay set. It seems ok to try , it's not the same quality as Vicmarc but my turning skills need brushing up so a variety of jaws would help me with that
Then just a couple of spur points and should be up and running

Thanks for these. I have a Vicmarc vm100 and pen jaws and pen saver mandrel in my cart. It's pretty expensive but they seem to have the most versatile range of jaws for me to expand on later

Vicmarc and Nova jaws in many cases not intercghangable. The H&F were but not sure with the newer ones, they have a good selection of jaws available.
Check out Trend Timbers also sogn up for mates rates deals. McJings also have a good set of chucks & jaws and spare parts. Gary Pye also have chuxk kits. All sell pen mandrels at reasonable cost.

Ended up going with this one. From what I could read it seems to be good enough quality and the range of jaws included will help me get started. Bought some spindles and spur points also.
Not fully setup for pen making yet but now can start on all those chisel handles I need to make

I think you'll be pretty happy with that set. Although I'm sure they aren't quite the same quality, to my amateurish eyes and for my use they seem to be as good as the nova's and the vm I have, just a huge amount cheaper.
Early on I needed a deep jaw set for my nova, and just the one set of jaws set me back over $100, so that ebay set is great value in my book.
