Default Wood lathe tools and 14" bandsaw

Hi, I'm pretty new to turning and just trying to build a bit of a collection with limited funds after the initial layout for the lathe with chuck and a few basic tools. I am looking for some better quality tools if anyone has some collecting dust that they are willing to let go for a reasonable price. I'm also keeping feelers out for a 14" bandsaw in good condition for my small shop to be able to tidy up some wood before going on the lathe, saving towards a new one, but it going very slowly. I am based south of the river in Perth and any help would be appreciated. Thank you

If you don't have a lot of money then once you have a couple of turning tools you can always make your own.
The High Speed Steel blanks that can act as blades are readily available online or from McJing.
eg see half way down this page https://mcjing.com.au/categorybrowse...?categoryid=75
You can then turn the handles yourself to sizes that suit you.

Have you got a grinder to sharpen them with? They will need sharpening pretty regularly.

Thank you Bob, I will definitely give it a go. It's a little intimidating, but we all have to start somewhere. [emoji846]

    Hello Natasha
Have you thought about joining a woodturning club?
They have all the tools, experience and knowledge you may need.
Google WAWA to find a club near you
SOR, Wandi Wood turners is one of the largest
