Default Blackwood, Sheoak & Myrtle or Beech for Beer

Having a cleanup at home and have various logs laying around such as Blackwood, Causarina and either Beech or Myrtle plus a few other species of short stuff which have a rotted or spalted such as Elm, Black Wattle, London Plane and whatever else.

Most of what I have will only really be suitable for turning or box making, have chainsaws here and will cut to size if needed.

All I ask for in return is donations of Monies towards beer or slabs of Carlton Draught cans.

This is a limited time offer, as most will either end up in my firewood pile or put on the burn pile once fire restrictions have been lifted.

Will post some photos tomorrow and timber can be viewed/ collected from East Warburton, Victoria, about an hours drive from Ringwood.

Cheers

DJ

Most days are usually fine with notice, tomorrow morning is out as I blew a hydraulic hose on the excavator this arvo and will be going for a drive in the morning to get it repaired.

Will be around Sunday and Monday at this stage and maybe Tuesday morning, got a big log recovery booked in for either Tuesday or Wednesday depending on how the tree loppers get on.

I'll have to say no to prawns at this stage, another mate gets them for me and I can't eat them at the moment anyway as most seafood doesn't agree with me at the moment.

Default well worth the trip

I went out to see DJ today. It was well worth the trip.

On the way I called in to purchase the agreed quantity of DJ's preferred currency (Carlton Draft cans) and drove out to Warburton.

I found DJ to be a great bloke. He was only too happy to help me find what I wanted, which was some decent logs the right size to break down on my bandsaw.

I got some blackwood, myrtle casuarina red gum and a short length of something we werent sure of but DJ wants me to send him a photo when I have cut it and he will identify it for me then. He is very knowledgeable about timber.

I might have to go out and get some more before it is too late.

Thanks DJ

Doug

Glad to to hear that you're happy with what you got Doug, was nice to meet you and your wife Julie.

You're welcome to come back anytime, you know where I'm at now

Pic of Doug's trailer with goodies loaded and one of the species that I wasn't sure of, think its Myrtle.

Still have a fair bit sitting here, only the one trailer load taken by Doug so far.

Heard today that fire restrictions might be lifted next Sunday, so depending on weather and restrictions, we might see some timber either ending up on the bonfire or the wood pile for firewood
