    That's great advice, Ken W. I've paid $50 a metre for 4x4 redgum (KD, but it's still splitting). And I have maybe metres of it.

    Redgum likes to move so a snug fit = future problems.

    So don't try for a tight fit of the lid... but if it "rattles" slightly then you should be right. Besides, it makes it more usable when you can remove the lid with just one hand.

    Sorry pic five should have been pic one.
    Pic one is of my depth gauge very usefull tool.

    G`day woops got a bit cold the other night had to burn it.

    P.S the truth is had a design oppertunity looks like a pier bollard with a hula skirt will start again.
