The last parcel to Iraq was returned to me, the mail service to Iraq has ceased with the withdrawal of troops. So, I will send them to the troops in Afghanistan. Amos

Is this still happening? As I've finally found time to make a couple of pens.

Yes, it is still happening, we are waiting for a reliable contact for Afghanistan, when we get that all pens will go to those troops there. We could push ahead via other chamnnels but prefer to get a solid contact, because we all want the troops at the front to recive them. Amos

Sorry it has taken so long folks, but I really want to be sure I don't waste the care, time and talent that you have put into the pens that have been sent, There is some glimmer of hope that we could have a contact(s) soon, Amos

Default It has been a while

It has been, of necessity we were after a reliable person to receive the pens and pass them on, we(another member of the forum and I) believe we have that person and tomorrow I will box off about 60 pens and send them, There will be photos but for security reasons no faces will be shown. Here is praying and hoping, Amos

Default 97 pens and 5 pencils sent

I have just sent off 97 pens and 5 pencils to the troops, I have emailed the person and here is the return email.
    G'day Amos,
no worries. I will let you know when they arrive, when I send them and when they arrive overseas.

Thank you and all of the people involved in arranging for these pens to be sent. It is quite humbling to be reminded that many people still think of the guys and girls who are serving overseas.

    Regards,

    Mick
Thanks to all who have contributed thus far, if you are in a position that you could make some pens, please send them to me, just pm me if you haven't got the address.
I think that there plenty of troops out there and we can be a small part of encouraging them, also we need to remember those who are the "home" troops and provide the necessary back up and support. If you would like to make some pens but are not in the position to buy some kits, let me know and we will see about getting some kits to you. Many thanks to you all, Amos

Just a thought Amos but if say one pen reaches a unit I have a feeling that the whole unit feels like people back home are thinking about us and are happy about that regardless of who gets to keep the pen.
