Vietnam veterans day 2013
This to be the start of pens for Veterans day, we have had a problem though. Some one in the postal system liked Michael aka Gromett's pens and decided to open the packet ab steal 8 pens
here are the two remaining pens from Michael and they were also from the special tree that Chris aka Mapleman donated
Please try and hide that you are posting pens please

No, sorry I didn't take a photograph. It's a good idea to document them, will do so next time.

I have lodged a formal complaint to Australia Post via email lets see what happens. The red tagged had been pulled. Strangely the $5 that Michael included was still there inside his note.

I have a hatred for thieves but like any organisation you have bloody thieves working in it. I have lost two items (stolen) now through Australia Post. One I was to receive (it arrived at the Post Office and then disappeared before I could pick it up) and the other was one I sent. Pens seem to be a favourite. Going through the complaint system is just a bureaucratic nightmare with forms to be filled out and little help from this particular post office until I voiced my concerns rather loudly in front of a row of customers. In the end how do they tell which employee stole them unless they have someone being watched at the time.
A question - Does anyone have a top quality photo of the Australian SAS emblem? I am after one to use as a decal for pens. It needs to be an original art photo as copies from the internet degenerate in quality and only get worse when printed as a decal. PM meif you have one please and I will give you my email address. I was going to make a few pens up for the SAS guys overseas.
Thanks
Greg

This what I received back from Australia Post
Please find attached a summary of your enquiry details below.
If you require further assistance with your enquiry, please respond to this email at your earliest convenience.
Thank you for contacting Australia Post.
Summary I am the coordinator for pens for the Australian Troops deployed overseas. Yeste... Discussion Thread Response Via Email (Belinda F) 09/05/2013 09.31 AM Hi Bruce
Thank you for taking the time to contact us about the parcel you received. I am really sorry to hear that it didn't contained the entire contents,I can certainly understand why you would be upset.
Bruce, it is possible that the packaging came open during transport and part of the contents went missing that way. The padded bags don't always seal properly and are known to come apart without sticky tape or staples being added as a safety measure.
To allow us to investigate missing contents, the Parcel including the wrapping and packaging must be presented at an Australia Post outlet as soon as possible for inspection. A green Customer Service Complaint Form (PM26) will be completed at this time. The Postal Manager will assess the article and make any recommendations necessary for consideration of compensation. We will need to keep both the packaging and the contents of your parcel at the post office for the duration of the investigation.
Once we have received all the required information from the Post Office a team member will be in contact with you to provide the outcome or if further information is needed. Please allow up to 10 business days for that to happen.
I’m really sorry that it has taken us longer than anticipated to get back to you. We are currently experiencing higher than normal online enquiries, and are working hard to make sure that we get back to our customers as soon as possible.
I hope that this information has helped and you enjoy the rest of your day. If there is anything else that we can do for you, please do not hesitate to contact us again.

Best of luck with that one Sam.
I managed to get the SAS logo from the army today in a high quality format. As soon as I get some spare time I will make up a few.
I think I can arrange to have them shipped by the Army to Afghanistan or to the SAS barracks in WA.

I have been to the post office and the owner said it was definitely worth filling in the form, he even said the missing pens may be in pigeon hole some where. I filled out the form so now we wait to see what happens

As you say, we shall see. Another 10 sent today in a CD box so wrapped in tape that "falling open" or "coming apart" in transit ain't an option.
