Default Myrna - Classic wooden paymaster ferry - looking for owners?

    All,

I am the registered owner of Myrna. She's a 1928 paymasters ferry moored in Middle Harbour. See the link below for more details:

    https://www.woodworkforums.com/archiv...p/t-29484.html

The gents who used to look after the boat are no longer returning my calls. Shes in OK shape and looking for a renewed vigour in ownership. For a while there she was looking good and well cared for, but in the last year or so, shes not been used much.

For various reasons, its come time for Myrna to move along, or for the rego to be transferred into the name of one of Myrna's caretakers. Sale of the boat is my last option, but given the gents don't return my calls it may be the only possible option before Maritime takes the boat to settle debts (which are surprisingly small).

If anyone knows the whereabouts of any of the gents who care for Myrna, please have them contact me ASAP via this forum. I have less than 14 days to sort this out, so please help if you can.

If you are not one of her current carers, and would be interested in taking her on, please contact me, just in case Myrnas Boys don't raise their heads in time. Otherwise she will be removed by Maritime, likely pulled out on the hard at Blackwattle bay, and stuffed in the process. This it not the outcome I want.

    Thanks,

    Tom

    Default taking on Myrna

    Hi Tom,
If none of the current "owners" turn up, I would love the chance to restore such an old beauty!
I'm working with a classically Dutch shipwright who has recent moved to Australia and is looking for a worthy project.
We are just outside Brisbane but we have used a guy who specializes in the transport of old wooden beauties and is very professional and committed so the transport wouldn't be a problem.
Let me know how things work out at your end as we would be very interested in Myrna!
    Regards
    Matt

We have contact. One of the Gents answered my call today.

I'm told that the boat will be listed on ebay today for a very low starting bid with no reserve. It will be a 7 day listing.

When it go's up I'll post a link here.

Matt - Thanks for the interest. The ebay listing should have contact details to allow you to talk to the guys direct and get more info on her.

New link to a better listing: The old one seems dead. This one is in the model boats section, but is alive and there is a few bids - to be clear this is a full sized real boat..
