    Default cheap lean too

ha ha dont have pics but I need your help.

Putting my 2HP dusty outside a colourbond shed. I want to build a cheap lean too that will protect it from the weatherm does not need insulation as we are safe distance from neighbours. Nor does it need the bags on.....
I dont want it to look tacky but dont want to build a palace, was thinking of building a frame from 25mm sq tube that I have stack of, but how to attach horizontally to the inside pirlon (?) and still keep square vertically.
To add to the pain I dont weld so everything is plastic joiners and tek screws for the frame.

I would like it 840 wide 2.4 high and 1200 deep.
I would love to grow my own food, but I can not find bacon seeds

    If you are going to
    - remove the filters/bags
    - modify it as per the sticky
    - run 6" ducting.

You really need to try running it like that (ie no ducting) and use an ammeter to check the current draw because the motor may draw too much current and long term burn the motor out. It should be OK but its still worth checking out.

While you are at it I would make any enclosure big enough to hold a twin filter/bag system just in case you decide to upgrade. The amount of work is marginal and meanwhile you can store something else in the spare space.

If you can't weld or make some metal joiners I'd suggest you use timber framing. You'll need to tie the bottom of the outside support posts to the ground somehow or the whole thing will just blow away in the first good wind.

That's a purlin, but I guess you'll actually be attaching it to a top plate or the wall studs, purlins are part of the roof structure. You need to run a bearer across the outside of the wall. Bob's right about making it a bit bigger.

whoops flu is getting the better of me...

Yes 6" ducting, already has a bell mouth on the dusty.
The motor has been turned so the dust comes out through the wall, fall straight into the dusty without a elbow.
was planning to run without bags n filter.

Good idea about the bigger space,

meant to say also side wall is 3.3m high but only need lean too from 2.5 down.

Right, you'll need to attach the bearer to the wall studs. Been visiting the grandkid's Tonto? That's where I got my last dose of the lergy.

I wish got this off the missus.

Hope this drawing clears things up, if I did it this way, top of lean too would be in line with interior wall bearer/brace. and nut n bolt through both, then upright pieces of sq tube have smaller nut n bolt going through colourbond and narrow metal bar that would fit inside ridge of colourbomd.
