Should i I have emptied my DC in the Mesozoic, Cenozoic or Paleozoic eras?

    Maybe the Paleoproterzoic.

To retain max flow through the filters the bags should be emptied somewhere between half and 2/3rd full.

I think the fun (for the onlookers) will be in getting the old bag off!

Any chance in setting up a video camera so we can all enjoy the careful removal? Probably no need for sound, I reckon there will be a few 'bleeps'!

    Oh you doubters!
Smooth as silk, no problem at all ...... unless I put on another 2 kg?
Actually, I’m getting pretty good at it but, in the spirit of global energy reduction, I’m sure it is not efficient to empty the bag and then quarter fill it again by using the DC to vacuum up the overflow from outside of the bag, transport it through 4metres of duct work and deposit it INSIDE the plastic bag only 20 microns away from where it first started?

It’s a pity that you couldn’t bottle the sawdust in those layered colours and market them as egsotitic wood dusts; some along the lines of the coloured sands from the beach between Noosa and Double Island Point!!

Crowie, don't laugh. The club that I am in, have sold a few bottles of different coloured sawdust at shows. A nice clean bottle, with good form and defined striations are something some decorators like. $5 a bottle recycled from the bin is not to be sneezed at.

Default What is this I hear you say....

    CA77DF10-2EA8-4A75-AB51-D45382D7A37D.jpg

THIS is the output stage of the prototype Bowman dust collector level detector!
Initial trials have shown that, in normal dust collecting volumes, the blue lights flash only if the level of the collected dust is less than 300 mm in depth from full!
In VERY heavy dust collecting tasks, like sucking up a wheelbarrow full of dust and chips through a 100mm flexible, the blue light might show but, once the DC is turned off, the indicator lights only show when the collected dust is within 300mm of full!
Trials are continuing but, so far, everything is looking positive
