I too used to have a top and bottom workshop like yours until SWMBO decreed the bottom part was to be converted into a rumpus room and I got the sandshoe straight into the top part. Truth be told it is a PIA, walking up and down getting stuff, forgetting stuff etc gets very old very quickly. Make an office/planning area, somewhere that is nice to retreat to and be in when you feel like it. As for storage, if you haven't used it or see something you forgot you have then ditch it as you don't need it, been there and done that. Once I started to get rid of stuff I found even more I could get rid of and I have not missed one single item. I had a Mezzanine shelf 7.5 metres x 2.4 and it was full of stuff that is no longer there. I use it for useful items now like timber storage and Clearvue stock.

Chris you poor old hard done by chap HTFU. Move it all upstairs. I'd be pleased to have 1/4 of your shed, as for top part think yourself luck your not carting everything down and then back up when its finished Bench well it goes right along the wall as does the mezzanine above some decent lighting, a few vices, storage underneath. Come on over and we'll spend a few hours in my shed.

Then there is that view, sounds of native wildlife.

I love my shed and I like keeping it neat and tidy. It took me 12 months to dig the hole by hand to put it in, 3 metres deep, 8.5 wide, about 12 long, every weekend and during summer we set up flood lights and kept digging at night, I must have been mad but there were no Bobcats etc in them old days. I just consider myself very lucky I have it to enjoy but I wouldn't do it again for a bet.

Easel, butchers paper, kettle, fridge and one of those king size hippie hammocks (for your back).
