That would solve the space issue, only problem then is that I'd own a Mazda

Someone will have to pay for that one, I'm glad it's not me. Anyway most of my work areas have either been fold away or knock down to sute the space I have had in the last couple of years. So instead of one large bench I had 4 small ones that came together to make a large bench, maybe that may work for you.

Andrew: This is black news, indeed. Any rationale at all for not covering the vehicle?
I park on the street. Maybe we get pavement next year. -20C, 50 kph wind and snow. A bit of a bother but I move on. On those days in particular, I must admit that a 7.6l V8, synthetic oil meant for jet turbines and 4x4 evens the odds.

Thanks guys - some of these suggestions made me laugh!
as for not parking outside - we're in a complex so there's no driveway parking, and we've already seen one of the neighbours cars wiped out by someone screaming down the hill plus it's generally hard to get a park out there anyway.
It's all good I think, I sold the bench to a nice forum member tonight and I think he'll do well with it. Plus, I get to spend the next few years planning my dream bench for when I do have space again!

I feel for you andrew! after having no shed for 2.5 years and having to fit 2 cars in the garage i feel yours pain...
it just takes that extra more motorvation to do stuff when you have to un pack and re organise before you do anything! lucky i'm out of that pain now and can actually start thinking about woodwork again. fingers crossed u can make the temporary adjustment work for you.
i have a new solution for you. how about a motorbike with a side car??? or maybe even a pimped up trike if you want the classier option???
