By the time I thought about in floor heating the slab was being poured! I had carpet in my last shed it wasn't so bad to keep clean.

The ceiling I have installed a grid for tiles see pictures below.

I was a little disappointed that I didn't think about installing a 50mm blanket on the roof, although I could lift all the sheets and do it now I guess but its a lot of work.

I Love the wall lining. Although it's too humid in QLD to use MDF the concept is great. What about the ceiling?

From my perspective I'm looking at those tiles and thinking they would be much more forgiving on my back than standing on concrete.
At the same time I don't think I could ever keep my workshop clean enough.

Over the last week I have been setting up my dust extraction and locations of my machines!

Here is what I have come up with so far.

    Looks good!
I'm hoping to be doing something similar with a ranbuild shed soon myself. I notice you've removed the brackets which brace the posts to the wall tophats, have you replaced them with anything else or do you think it will be ok without them?

The guy who installed the shed actually told me I could remove them without any issues.

For newbies there are better locations for blast gates - here's how I would have done it.
    Gateloations.jpg

The principle is to locate the gate as close as possible to the trunkline - otherwise the sawdust going past an open duct will fall into that duct and can even fill it up and block it so that when you have to use that line it will be choked. If you want to put the gates down low installing an inspection port on the side of the duct just under the gate is worth considering so that you don't have to take apart the ducting.

I realize you probably just want to get up and running but some other improvements that would make a big difference
Use 6" ducting all the way to the machine.
Modify machine ports to use full 6" ducting
Reduce the use of flexy (these are real killers to flow) and given you have so much room I would have hard plumbed most of those machine into the ducting without using any flexy.

Thanks Bob my next job is to modify the machine ports, but for now I just want to get things running again I’m having withdrawals not being able to tinker.

I know exactly what you mean, in my case it's been fluid on my right knee that has been keeping me out of my shed. I managed to get down there for a bit today.
In case I haven't said it I'm dead jealous of your space!

Well that's a shed to drool over. Congratulation on your shed and the internal layout. Interesting to see you used carpet, either your a clean freak or got a very good floor cleaning system. I reckon I'm going to struggle to keep painted floor clean if I even managed to do that.

Like you dust extraction system. Like to know how you operate your blast gates they linked to your machine an open when turned on or manual?

    Hey Brian,

At the moment I open them manually but I was thinking of installing the iVac pro blast gates still undecided.

    Hi,

I need to look into automatic blast gates. As they will be used in a Men Shed, and sure as, someone, including me may forget to open or close a gate and we will end up with dust everywhere.

Considering we are getting a fair bit of electrical work done, this could be an addition.

    Brian
