Under house storage.
Even though I have a 6mx6m shed I have always been short on storage so I decided to go under the house.
Luckily the space is about 6mx3.6 mbut the ground has a slope back to front., still it will hold plenty.
I simply cut some 75x200 sleepers down the middle, anchored then to the ground and back filled with crusher dust.
Next step for the floor is pallets and black plastic as I have both.
The enclosing was done with corrugated zincalume running horizontally to match similar panels on the external wall of the house.
The boss is pleased as things look neat and tidy and all the current mess will be hidden.
This ought to be my last major job here. I hope once the shed and the storage are sorted I can start to do what I want to and
not what I have to do!

Yeah, right. I've been saying that for years too.
Now I'm just coming to realise that it's me that creates all the must do work. Just the way I think. Spot a chunk of free time coming up and immediately find a must do job that just has to be squeezed into it somehow.
I hope you have better luck then me finding the balance.
Just an unsolicited rant because you got me thinking.

What termite precautions/treatment have you included? By the sound of it you have just created the perfect termite habitat.
Is there any contact from your storage to the structure of the house, if so, you have just voided all insurance and warranties.
Some photos would be helpful please. The person who never made a mistake never made anything

Correct, termites are exo skeletal but the real problem you face is environment/air born dust/particles that forms a fine layer over the crusher dust and effectively provides the correct environment for them to creat their galleries. Your method is usually used in the wall cavity at slab/footing level then has a very fine stainless wire mesh over the top of it.
A preferred method would be to install a reticulated recharge system whereby the chemical is deposited directly into the ground. The person who never made a mistake never made anything

I had a reticulated system installed in a previous house and that is what I am thinking of here.
Pest controller will be around on Wednesday so will sort out options then.

Can you suspend storage from the structure above?
My shallow "basement" is unpaved and enclosed, called "crawl space" here.
I harvested a substantial collection of beat-up patio furniture - typically Al tubing in U-shapes. I drilled the legs and attached them to the joists with lag screws and placed shelving on the throat of the U. Still enough headroom to maneuver, and an amazing amount of storage.

getting there.
Well things have progressed somewhat slowly due mostly to the heat and the fact that I am working solo.
Had several tons of gravel and soil to move and that had to be done with shovel and barrow. I really am getting
a bit beyond this sort of heavy and persistent work.Still, this is my last major outside job.
I have shifted most of what needs to go under the house into its new home!!! just basically some tidying up to go now
and then I can start on the reorganization of the shed - third time lucky!
Will be restarting some turning and, I hope, getting a start on some box making when we get back from Africa.
