Well better put some wood working on here being the forum it is.

Finished dressing the posts, I have intentionally left the saw marks as they are suited to this build and the existing house.

Cut the slot on one post for the stirrup, nothing fancy just a saw and chisel. Note the sweat on the last photo, better hurry before summer gets here...

Roof battens on and Dutch gable on one end. Should have a roof soon.

Fascia nearly all done, hopefully get part of the roof on tomorrow. Very tedious the fascia and brackets ect. I think it has taken longer than getting the walls and trusses up.

Update, roof is on and semi screwed off. Not much progress as I have been on holidays the last few weeks.

Will do the Dutch gables on the weekend hopefully.

    Cheers

    Default Jonesy's Shed Build

The roof battens supplied were only 20mm wide (not sure if they made a mistake with the kit?) so as the sheets were laid I marked each screw position. Very slow process but the bonus is a nice screw line...

Looks way better than the job I did on my roof! Well done, it’s coming together nicely.

Thanks Cal, I have sheeted both the gables now. I will scribe the apron flashing later this afternoon when it’s cooler.

That's a great looking shed you have there. You will have some fun finishing it off and then fitting it out, bet you can't wait to actually make a few shavings and a bit of noise.

    Hope it all goes well.

Definitely not outdoor weather the next few days Ross, but luckily I will have the roof completely finished by the end of the day, just in time to beat the summer.

Thanks Alan, yes can't wait for it to be done. I haven't had a shed for a few years now since moving so plenty of things to catch up on. Starting to run out of fishing lures so that will be first on the list.

Will post some more photos soon.

Roof is done! The 25 degree roof pitch didn’t make it easy. Hope there are no roofers reading.

You’ve done well, looks good to me! Now quick, get the sheets on the side of it and get in there. Haha!

Wish it was that easy! Next step is to make the window casements. Could be a little tricky getting the right clearances for them to work properly.

I am looking into getting the windows sand blasted to save some time. There is no dip and strip in Rocky that I know of.
