Default personally , I blame the Sri Lankan cricket team........

It's that time of the year, passively enjoying the woodworking Christmas presents that you put under the tree yourself supposedly from from Santa, great weather, lots of food and drink just waiting ... and the CRICKET on TV!
But not this year! Sri Lanka folded, battered, in just 2 and a bit days, the weather is dull, the 60 odd people who passed through the house over the last week joyously ate and drank what they bought and what we provided, something they are encouraged to do ... but have never achieved before ... so what do I do?
My woodworking Christmas present that I bought for myself ... ooops ... that Santa left for me because I HAVE been a good boy .... was a 600mm square LED light panel for more light on my handtool work ... and my sharpening station .... oh, and the router table.
So, the answer to the question is INSTALL THE LED .... but I haven't cleaned up since the carparks so ... CLEAN THE SHED AND INSTALL THE LED ... personally I blame the Sri Lankan Cricket Team!

Carpark building must be dirty because my shed was trashed. I spent much of the day cleaning the first half so I could install the LED. I had 3 needs but 1 LED so I fitted it on a slide with a remote switch to cover the vise and sharpening station

    ledshed!.jpg

but slides across to cover the router table

    ledshed2.jpg

rechecked the TV, yup no cricket, checked the frij, only light beer, so I started installing some old kitchen cabinets displaced by a recent kitchen reno. Like so many shed jobs, to do a job requires at least 2 other prep jobs, 3 unforseen jobs and a couple of jobs from opportunities not previously realised. The space on the back of the door has always been 'wasted', the new cupboard displaced my old clamp rack so.....

    ledshed3.jpg

I'm guessing that tomorrow will be No cricket, LIGHT beer and the other half of the shed! I have a new project in mind, something a bit special and will have a clean and well lit start!

Al, last time that I was in your shed, we both had to move sideways, as the sole walk way was narrow. Have you discovered the secret of the Tardis?

Forget about the Tardis. I want to know about a 600mm LED panel!!

I have a growing assortment of LEDs and was excited with the 1 m long strip from Aldi..........but 600mm square is very impressive.

Where do you get them, how much..........

    What is a "remote switch"?

My big screen made a funny noise yesterday and stopped working, so I am back to listening to the ABC.

Yes I must say Fletty was brought to tears right in front of me and two woman when he saw that there was to be NO Cricket for a further 3 days.......I hate seeing grown men cry over red balls and old bats.

Pat I was there just two days ago and even then you couldn't have got through the door, let alone me try get in and even then the large trailer was starting to over flow with items being tossed..............must ask Fletty about the motor blades and rollers etc on the old thicky?? I hope it hasn't gone yet

I must say A it does look clean and that light shades will be required by any who enter.

Pity the sale still isn't on or the Cricket it may give you time to install a TV down there tho.

    Hi Scally,
The panel is 600mm square and about 15mm thick. I got it from Zazz, an on-line boys-toys site who send out an email each day advising that they have a particular item on sale, terrific prices, for just one day! The panel was (about) $90 and $15 postage. Yesterdays was laser guided scissors .... honest! (no affiliation, just an addict!)
A few years ago I bought a Kambrook appliance remote for (about) $30. The 3 remote units fit into powerpoints and when you push the button on the handheld, whatever appliance is plugged into that remote unit turns on. I have my dustcollector plugged into 1, the microclene into 2 and now the LED plugged into 3. As Pat so unkindly stated, my shed is often 'obstructed' and I found that I wasn't using the dust collector as often as I should ... because I couldn't easily get to it!
The LED panel is brilliant ... literally. Very even light distribution, cannot see any individual LEDs, daylight colour balance and NO cast shadows.

    Default oh, OK then..........

    THANKYOU SRI LANKA
.......If it hadn't been for you guys I still wouldn't be able to get into my shed. It was SO bad I was having to go outside just to change my mind.

And now for the inside of the Tardis....

I don't know how to do a "user report' on a light. Maybe if I can read the fine print on an insurance policy? Hmmmm, I'll think upon it.

    Default Low Scoring Games

I guess I should also thank the Kiwi team on tour over here. All out for 45, their first innings on day one of the 5 day test.
I guess I will be spending some serious time on my new Triton 2000 come the weekend......

    Thanks Fletty
but the last thing I need is another "too good to miss" inducement to spend my shed money!

The remotely moveable ceiling LED light-panel looks excellent and great buy on the remotes too.
I am surprised that as a lover of toys and gadgets I missed these gems. I don't know what I must have been doing for the last twelve months!

Your shed looks like it hasn't been used?

What you need now are the Insulated Doors under the tin roof and you will be ready to start using the shed.

    Nice setup

How did you come up with the 44Gal Dust system? Looks great - i assume it's a cyclonic action into the 44 then post filtered back into the shed?
