Thread: My Shed

OK I'm back
We had a change of mind during the earthworks which meant the shed in it's current design didn't fit ( I'll put up a pic to show why )
So being a class 1 building we had to go back to council for approval. Which meant new drawings, basix cert, engineering etc etc
All approved early January, and then came the rains and more rains. 1200mm so far.

Anyway........managed to get a dry spell and formed up the slab and drilled the 450dia x 5 metre deep pier holes for the awning.
And you guessed it, 200mm in two hours. So much for the 5-10mm

So, out with the shovel, dig down to find the hole, redrill and form up with two 44 Gal drums end on end.
Fortunately I only had to fix 2 of the 5 pier holes.

So, we finally have a slab

Shed kit was delivered this week and they were going to start on Monday, but 100mm due today.
Don't know what I did in my previous life but it must have been bad.

Shed now 12 x 18

Congratulations, nice to see that its well under way now, 12 X 18 should make a decent man cave. Though it's never big enough.

Wow I've seen smaller houses

It's actually a shed and a house, a " shouse "
202 sq metres of mezzanine floor will be our digs for a while while we build the house, say 2,3,4 or 5 years

Looking forward to getting out there full time. 100 acres, a shouse and 3 phase off grid solar.
A vegie garden, some chooks and a cow or 2 and I'll be set.

We should stand the frames tomorrow 85T crane, recon it's big enough

I'm know expert on cranes but that looks wrong read expensive

Not to jinx honest 3 doors up young bloke works on cranes and is licensed rigger he just turned 21 so far he has had to rescue 2 or 3 high structure cranes and repair. He is well aware of the dangers.

You mentioned sand base hence the warning but the local crane men should be well aware of the wet wet wet ground after all that rain.

Seriously i hope it all goes well with out so much as a loose hitch.

Keep the camera handy though progress shots all welcome.

Your off the hook wheelin, all went according to plan.
6 hours of fury and the crane drove off into the sunset.

I'm thinking you need to change the name of the thread - that's not a shed, it's a hangar!! I thought the slab was going to make for a huge shed, but now to see that it's actually hanging over two edges of the slab as well.....

Well done on getting the frames up though, 'nice to get a better appreciation of the relative size of it...... (Or are they just very small children in the photos dressed up as workers to make the shed look bigger than it is???)
