Had a few days to spare this week as the shed guys buggered off to another job
So with the help of a couple of brickie mates we knocked up the genie shed.
    It's 3.2 x 2.4 internally.
300 blocks core filled with 2.5 cube, done in the mixer and poured from the scaffold in buckets.

    Glad that's done mini-IMG_0780.jpgmini-IMG_0784.jpgmini-IMG_0785.jpg

how is the back, laying blocks is a job in it self. are you going to use the bank as a natural sound deadener.

The back's recovered. Been a few years since I did brickies labourer. Me thinks I'm way too old for that caper.

    Update

Nearly 2 walls sheeted, roller doors ready to install. End roller door is 4.2 x 4.2 to allow truck entry.
The mezzi will cut down the full height area to 7.5 x 12
Now waiting for windows which won't be ready till end of next week. So another delay.

    Update

    mini-IMG_0799.jpgmini-IMG_0800.jpgmini-IMG_0801.jpgmini-IMG_0802.jpg

Now waiting for the crane to show up to load the roof sheets.
Murphy's been at it again. What happens when a crane that weighs in at 40T goes over an old wooden bridge with a 42T limit.
You guessed it. The crane and bridge become one

    mini-IMG_0798.jpg
This end of the shed will have a mezzanine floor.
There are 2 x 50,000 litre pioneer tanks to go in first.

    mini-IMG_0804.jpgmini-IMG_0803.jpg
The left pic will be the woodwork area ( 8x5 ) and the right pic will be the metalwork area ( 12x6 ) (Under the mezzi )
That will leave an open area of 12x7 for either wood or metal to spill over into

Hopefully the shed guys will be done by the end of next week and I can start on the fitout

Fantastic looking shed, I am really envious. I could have a model train room in there.

    Great job

Only just spotted this thread BB.

Most interesting. I'm about to embark on a shed project exactly the same size - 18m x 12m x 5m high at the gutter. I wonder if it's from the same mob you bought yours?

I've got most of the trees cleared (not as many as you) and have the site prepared with a cut & fill excavation as there's around 800mm fall over the slab area. I have the shed kit sitting on site but I've come to a halt now for a while, as I need to finish a little subdivision project to recoup some funds for completion of the shed. As you will know the slab alone will be around $15K, as I'm making it 150mm thick with perimeter beams all round.

I was also thinking of building a mezzanine at one end, but haven't decided for sure yet.
Don't Just Do It.... Do It HardenFast!!

    Regards - Wayne

Sorry for the lack of updates, it's been a little crazy
I'll do a few separate posts to bring you up to current

    mini-IMG_0894.JPGmini-IMG_2037.JPGmini-IMG_2036.JPG

The water tanks are in. 2 x 50,000 Lt. Above the tanks is the outdoor BBQ area

    mini-IMG_2049.JPGmini-IMG_2051.JPG

These pics are the inside mezzi
Between the inside and out there is 200 sq/m of compressed cement tongue and groove sheet, complete with 3500 screws

    Default Powered up

Power was available at the next door neighbours place and there is a pole within 50 metres of the fence, unfortunately it runs on private property and his fee to access it was significant. 2 new poles and a trany brought the figure up significantly and it's only single phase.

So we decided on the full monty off grid solar package.

    mini-536.JPG

    66 x 280 watt panels ( 18.5 kW ) cover the entire north western face of the shed (6 x 24 metres)

    mini-558.JPG

    3 x MPPT trackers

    mini-553.JPG

6 x 6 kW inverters and the smarts to run them

    mini-556.JPG

1200 Amp hours of lithium battery storage at 48 Volts gives us 56 kW hours

    mini-559.JPG

All the units neatly in the corner of the shed. They do take up some real estate though ( nearly 6 metres long )

    mini-IMG_0893.JPG

And for peace of mind or extended rainy periods a 125 KvA genset

For those interested it will produce 36 kW of 3 phase power and 63 Amps per phase. The panels produce approx 65 kilowatt hours during winter and 100-120 kilowatt hours during summer

More progress to come once I sort out the pics
