    Default Another shed saga begins

Shed will be 6m wide x 7.5m long with monopitch roof - important stuff: walls = Surfmist, roof = Windspray...

Approval for combined pool, shed and home renos came through in November. Wet weather before and after Christmas has delayed things a bit, but the slab is finally down

Yep rained before the concrete pour...
    IMG_0232.jpg
And again just as the initial leveling was completed. Cleared just in time for the final finish.

    Yay, that's a slab!

Shed (Fairdinkum) is being delivered tomorrow and build scheduled to commence Friday.
Have plumbers coming in on Thursday to dig in sewerlines and storm water connections.

Thanks to Sketchup, this is roughly what I'm planning in terms of layout:
    Shed floorplan 20160118, no office.jpg

There is a pool close by so the WC needed external access as well as internal - cavity slider from inside to save floor space.
I've extended the ceiling at 2400 across both the toilet and workshop sink area for some additional storage space above - sheet storage between sink area and Cyclone enclosure.

I'm planning to insulate and line all the external walls (anticon in the roof).

I've had 3phase power connected to the house and will run from a sub-board in the shed - planning 10amp double GPOs about every meter or so around the perimeter and four 15A single outlets. 3phase power hardwired to each machine with 2 additional circuits available for additions down the track (thicknesser and bandsaw hopefully)

Still sorting out lights, but I'm thinking about 6-9 led down lights

Lots to do before woodwork starts in earnest. But plenty of carpentry and joinery to keep things ticking along

    Cheers
    Leanne

Good to see this finally going ahead Leanne, the last time we spoke you were looking at the three phase option.

Me too Chris It's been a longtime coming... Started planning it all early last year, think we spoke in September. Will be in touch again soon if that's ok?

Looks Good. Have you thought about putting the dust extractor outside, it looks like the internal enclosure for it is taking up a fair bit of space?

Well done on getting things underway!!!

A good size shed but I wonder about wasting the extra floor area with the dusty inside.

Can it not be parked outside somewhere? Say the back left corner?

Yes - moving the DE outside is a distinct possibility. Just waiting on the retaining walls on property boundary to be finished and the water tank and pool pump filter to be in their final positions to work out what I'll have left at the rear. Probably will end up right rear corner on outside, something like this...

Today the sewer lines are being installed...
    trenching first:

    then come the pipes:

Now just waiting on the shed to be delivered (after the pipes are backfilled if we get our timing right)...

And build started today - curtailed around 1.30 due to the storm that came through...

    A quick update...
Shed builders finished last Thursday - got a bit delayed by weather which has been the story of our progress since before Christmas. Oh, well.
This is kind of the complete build in about 1min of timelapse (I forgot to check the battery on the last day, so it didn't quite make it)

This is the finished front view:
    IMG_0286_copy.jpg

Running in power - well, conduit for the electrician to pull the cable through at least Took advantage of the plumbers digging in the water and gas lines to run the power at the same time - nice when something works out cheaper than I expected (a very uncommon event in this build)
    IMG_0274_copy.jpg

    IMG_0278_copy.jpg

And framing up for the WC - is it too much to ask for a nice straight piece of framing 90x45??
    IMG_0285_copy.jpg

I'm expecting the door frame for the 4x Al bi-fold doors by about mid next week, so will at least be able to get it all secure - once I cut a 70mm deep x 100mm wide rebate across the opening. Long story but note to self, next time you say to the shed 'designer' you need a specific opening size make sure he places it to clear the rafter, and not just as a rectangle on the front elevation view of the plan.

Should be able to get the plumbers back next week to rough in water/gas and sewer - in the meantime, I have quite a bit of electrical cable to throw about. Roughly, something like this...
    shed - pwr conf 20160211.jpg

And there's the epoxy floor to go down before I can actually move anything in...
