With that said, the only other hardware store here was and still is unable to supply short rolls of foil, they only keep the large rolls to satisfy builders demands. Talk about competition! Like many others no doubt, I have tried to support the local M10 store, but they just don't keep the rane anymore, nor are they even in te ball park with their prices. Prior to B coming to town they were the only hardware/building supplies, andhad the market. Since the opposition moved in, they have built a great new premise, about 4 times the size of the old one, and near enough to the same size as the local B, but don't have the stock inside it. There is in reality very little choice more often than not.

I might add that all the timber used in the construction of the shed is of doubtful origin, but of the genus palliatus variagatum, and all cut to size from the source.

Today, wall insulated, and sheeting prepared for fitting tomorrow.
Next to undercoat and paint with an appropriate colour...problem, how to use the colour I want, not the one that SWAMBO wants me to use. Maybe do it while she is away on Friday? and put up with the deafening silenceaahhh...silence; music to my ears!!!

Lining completed on one wall today....easier than I thought it would be too.

Just a brief update on the sloowww progress of the shed.. Between the last post and now, I've spent another 5 das in Newcastle helping daughter and useless son- in-law get house ready for sale; that is finished at last!! I've finished painting the half of the shed that's lined, moved all the stuff inside to that side, and started putting the battens and srking on the other half. Ordered another window and that will be delivered next Monday 12th Sept. Starting to come together nicely now, hopefully will be finished in the next 2 weeks. Pics attached.

I'd be telling the SiL suck it up lad get some B%%$s

Shed looks good can see where you have left for the additional window still reckon one down the far end would have been good so you can ponder the world in winter viewing out there.

what size timber you using & is it just in front of the rails or up against the iron on the side of the shed
and whats the linning material MDF?

There is indeed a "room with a view", you can see it on the back wall to the left of where the other window space is...sink/tub, and refreshment facilities in this corner so one can partake of and watch the world roll by beyond

SiL has more "excuses" for not doing anything than you'd believe his father brought him up to be just like him: a man's role is to go to work, bring home the bacon and let the woman do everything else, or arrange for it to be done, so he can sit on his #### on the sofa and watch football/tv/kids shows(with little kids), and generally get wife p...ed off. I've just about written the lad off! Gave grandson some carpentry tools when he turned 4 a couple of years ago, and he is becoming a real little worker, showing dad up too. Must admit though that it is a bit trying for mum when he puts hammer through the wall as he misses nail, and pokes screwdrivers into gyprock...still, he's learning.

Gave d...head a set of spanners, sockets etc last Christmas in an attempt to motivate him...ha ha ha...daughter now has tools and uses them

G'day Michael,

No, the timbers are not against the sides. There is foil sarking inside the wall girts held by foil tape and later as well by the framing. There is a cavity beween the external walls and the sarking and framing, then fibreglass insulation inside the framing, in much the same manner as in a regular house.

All the bottom plates are 70 x 38 screwed into plugs in slab, all framing timber is 38 x 18, and is fixed to bottom plates, top plates; which are 38 x 18 and fixed to top purlins; and also to wall girts. Solid as a rock. Wall lining is 9mm MDF, and fixed along all edges and in centres. The MDF does not sit on the concrete, it is held off by a 9 x 19 strip fixed to the outside of the bottom plate. The skirting board is 70 x 12 pine. Most of the timber was already sawn to the sizes I have used, but when I ran oout of 38 x 18, it was a simple task to cut more from 70 x 38. Likewise the 70 x 12 was sawn fro 70 x 38. ALL timber used has come from pallets of various sizes, the only wood product bought was the MDF from the big green shed for $20.59 a sheet. All timber and MDF is screwed, no nails or glue used, so that if need ever arises any panel can be removed.

For Grandson and daughter mine is the same "Oh you have a BS I have something I need to do" was even willing to use the old Triton but I said so we did it together. Sil is ok with tools willing but >>>>>>

After a period of too much rain, and a minor health setback, the lengthy hiatus has come to an end. The shed proper is completed except for the painting of the floor which will begin tomorrow. Allowing for coats, and ample time to dry when all completed (so that moving gear around will not damage surface), everything should be ready by Wednesday. Only problem seen at the moment is the weather....poor weather and thus slower drying time for paint is forecast for next 5 days.

Next stage is starting to sort out what goes where with the machinery, and then hand tools etc. Much head scratching methinks!

Nicely done plenty natural light, reflective also, windows for day dreaming.
Just needs a few benches present tools laid around the walls and you'll be like the rest of us, no room in the shed, in need of a bigger one, dust everywhere, looking for more tools to fill said shed.

Next series is when its all set up and in production
