I completed the trench to 550mm deep. I also got out my large angle grinder with concrete cutting wheel and cut away a bit of each slab so that cable can sit flush against the wall. Then a steel cover is screwed over the top apparently. Electrician is here next thursday to do the work, I am taking a day of leave to provide manual labour where required

I bought a trenching shovel, best thing I ever did, along with my large crow bar (is that what you call the 1.8 metre ones?) I was able to get the trench finished in 3 hours. It probably does not look like much, but Lara at least where I am has hard clay and then these hard rocks underneath that. Bloody hard work!

But I sure am stuffed now!

You mean a "Spud Bar". Great fun using these, great for breaking up concrete, splitting logs and loosing up soil. You certainly know about your entire upper body after playing with it for a few hours.

    Luckily I have a spa

A bit more progress today. Got the guttering up, thanks for your help . Managed to get half the roof on thanks to Scooter and son (Josh), also thanks to Springwater for the offer of assistance .

I'll hold the ladder for you as long as you don't ask me to look up . I would have asked my neighbour to help but they were unavailable (private joke, may let me put the pic in open slather, but I doubt it)

See Jeff, I told you there was room for the gutter .

John, what price is the aircell insulation?

BTW, I think the gratuitous ladder shot should be deleted for the sake of the human race

We're getting so little rain here in Melbourne I figure it will evaporate between showers .

John would place some reo mesh or similar under the skylight to stop big birds from smashing in.

Geez, GJ, it still looks like you cut it a bit fine.....

Looking good so far. You get rid of the skylights after the first hot days though I suspect.
