I'm fine with that - I was #12...

I know I'm probably imposing on the judging panel too much, as they've done a stellar job, but i'd be really interested to see their thoughts on each of the boxes. For me the aim of this comp was to do a box, see how it went (better than expected!) and then hear what much more expreienced people had to say on it.

If you don't want to, I'm totally OK with that - as I said I don't want to impose. But if you feel like it, I'd be interested...

Cheers,
Dave

Congratulations to the winners and thanks to the organiser, judges and moderators. And to all the voters: we must be good, the judges' choice was about the same! Another positive experience for all, it would appear! Also, a huge pat on the back for the maker of box no.12, who must feel a bit dejected at the moment... so close!

On to the next one!

I'm #12...

whilst I was very grateful for the voting I received, #10 was the better box, so I don't feel dejected at all.

I was happy to enter (never done that before), and to make a small box (never done that either), and to get a few votes (chuffed about that). All in all, lots of fun and pretty worth it.

Will definitely go in other challenges as they come along...

Cheers,
Dave

Originally I had a few designs in mind, most them involved curves. I did some calculations after receiving the wood. Because I wanted to make the box entirely from the piece of wood so this is the one I could do.

Yes, I needed a lot of jigs to make it.

The box was intended to be used as a money box. We keep notes and coins in it. It is now sitting nicely on the mantle piece. Childrew are not allowed to play with the box though.

Thanks for the fun everone.
